Use it to\u00a0dose\u00a0Nitric Acid for pH adjustment and boosting leaf growth or Soluable Silica for boosting plant immunity, microbes for plant health, hydrogen peroxide for hygiene and improved natural cooling effect, beneficial fungi like Trichoderma or any other element you would like to boost for your specific crop.<\/p>\n<p>Dosing units are well designed fit for purpose systems working on a pneumatic over hydraulic principle, a\u00a0simple\u00a0design, maximizing\u00a0reliability and enable\u00a0<strong>easy maintenance<\/strong>. Moving parts are\u00a0not in contact with solutions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eight sensors<\/strong>\u00a0are fitted as a standard monitoring pH, EC, Solution\u00a0temperature, Ambient temperature and humidity, Solution pressure, Solution level and compressor air pressure.\u00a0<strong>Aditional sensors<\/strong>\u00a0(such as CO2 sensors)\u00a0<strong>can be fitted<\/strong>\u00a0on request.<\/p>\n<p>SMART Life Support Systems are fitted with specially designed\u00a0<strong>electronic control system<\/strong>, with Touchscreen and Mouse\u00a0<strong>Human Machine Interface<\/strong>. The\u00a0<strong>MeerKat software<\/strong>\u00a0is installed onto the onboard computer. This software enables you to\u00a0<strong>control and monitor<\/strong>\u00a0the Life Support Systems\u00a0<strong>locally<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Use Anydek or Teamviewer to connect to a SMART Life Support Systems\u00a0from a remote connection and stream data live.<\/p>\n<p>As long as you have an internet connection on site and\u00a0 your remote device\u00a0you should have controllability of your system. Note that\u00a0<strong>annual service fees may apply for remote connection<\/strong>. We are continuously upgrading software. Upgrades can be done from our site. Note that some photos in the photo plane may become unused as we add new features and screens all the time.<\/p>\n<p>There are paid services available where you can install a\u00a0<strong>widget on the background of your cellphone\u00a0<\/strong>to monitor your Life Support Systems. You can\u00a0<strong>set alarms<\/strong>\u00a0which will then notify you when a measured parameters\u00a0is out of range on your hydroponic systems. Service fees depend on the frequency and the amount of data points you wil be monitoring. Up to three million data measurements per annum is normally free of charge. Please contact us for more information.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Alarms<\/strong>\u00a0can be set on the Life Support System for\u00a0<strong>locally warning employee<\/strong>s should a measured parameter go out\u00a0of acceptable range. As a standard a beeper will sound but we can add strobe lights and other devices if required.<\/p>\n<p>SMART Plant Life Support systems are\u00a0used to\u00a0<strong>support any\u00a0<\/strong>of our\u00a0<strong>commercial hydroponic systems<\/strong>\u00a0like the Hallelujah system, the Rooikat system, the A-Frame systems, Vertical systems or the Multi Layer systems for medicinal plants.<\/p>\n<p>SMART Life Support Systems are build onto a thousand litre system\u00a0<strong>tank<\/strong>\u00a0as one unit. In some applications (like with the Hallelujah systems) the life Support System should be installed\u00a0into a\u00a0<strong>sump<\/strong>\u00a0to let gravity do its work. Drawings and material lists are available from us on request.<\/p>\n<p>The systems basically\u00a0<strong>need a 220V AC supply, a 20mm 1 to 3 bar fresh water supply<\/strong>\u00a0point and a\u00a0<strong>32mm<\/strong>\u00a0class 3\u00a0<strong>pipe<\/strong>\u00a0for\u00a0<strong>waste water<\/strong>. This pipe can lead to a waste water storage tanks which you can use for other applications (watering the lawn, orchards or fields)\u00a0later on. Note that the systems are designed to be\u00a0<strong>water efficient<\/strong>. No\u00a0more than 1000 litres of waste water per week will be generated. The reason why there is waste water is because the\u00a0<strong>plants cause unbalanced nutrient conditions\u00a0<\/strong>over time. With a laboratory on site unbalanced conditions can be managed and\u00a0minimized but it is simply more cost effective to get\u00a0rid of unbalanced solutions and to use it for other applications because\u00a0<strong>unbalanced solutions\u00a0does not support\u00a0optimal hydroponic plant growth.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Cooling towers\u00a0<\/strong>are f<strong>itted<\/strong>\u00a0to SMART Life Support Systems\u00a0<strong>as a standard.<\/strong>\u00a0For warm African conditions a cooling tower is an essential component.<\/p>\n<p>Sensitive components are housed into a neat\u00a0<strong>LDPE enclosure<\/strong>\u00a0that\u00a0<strong>protects<\/strong>\u00a0the\u00a0<strong>components<\/strong>\u00a0against the elements. The computer is housed inside an electrical enclosure for the same purpose.<\/p>\n<p>SMART Life Supports Systems\u00a0<strong>require<\/strong>\u00a0an\u00a0<strong>internet\u00a0<\/strong>connection onsite. On request we can fit a\u00a0<strong>GSM router<\/strong>\u00a0to the Life Support Systems\u00a0if you choose to use cellular services for internet. This is often\u00a0cheaper than to use a local internet service provider.\u00a0Please\u00a0<strong>test reception<\/strong>\u00a0on site with your cellphone before you take this route.\u00a0With internet on site your hydroponic system\u00a0will have remote control and monitoring abilities. The MeerKat system report on the state of your internet connection.<\/p>\n<p>The meerKat system\u00a0<strong>record<\/strong>\u00a0and display\u00a0<strong>history<\/strong>\u00a0for the last 24 hours. Old history is automatically archived and available on a cloud platform. Having history is extremely helpfull in knowing the state of your hydroponic system. Activities are also logged and displayed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Calibrations<\/strong>\u00a0are done on the MeerKat system using\u00a0<strong>simple\u00a0procedures<\/strong>\u00a0which are\u00a0<strong>displayed<\/strong>\u00a0on the calibrations\u00a0<strong>screen<\/strong>. All settings and calibrations are\u00a0<strong>password protected<\/strong>\u00a0to prevent unauthorised setting.<\/p>\n<p>There is\u00a0a limited\u00a0level of\u00a0<strong>artificial intellegence<\/strong>\u00a0build into the Life Support Systems. Intellegence is\u00a0<strong>controllable by the client<\/strong>. The system can decide when to dose a certain solution or you can request it to dose solutions under certain conditions. You can also instruct the system when or under which conditions it should perform any other system function like cleaning the filter, flushing the system or doing a maintenance cycle.\u00a0If you are into AI we can take it to the extremes. Auto pilot, speach reporting and voice recognitioning are doable features we have been working on.<\/p>\n<p>As an\u00a0<strong>option<\/strong>\u00a0we can\u00a0fit a\u00a0<strong>small camera<\/strong>\u00a0to each Life Support System. Cameras face hydroponic systems in front of that Life Support System.\u00a0It can be very usefull during the\u00a0<strong>mentorship<\/strong>\u00a0period for Grow Machines\u00a0to see what is happening in your hydroponic systems and advise accordingely but it can also be very usefull to\u00a0you to\u00a0<strong>track growth<\/strong>\u00a0of your plants (doing time lapses),\u00a0<strong>supervise employees<\/strong>\u00a0and it can even be helpfull to\u00a0<strong>identify potential threats.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Hydroponic systems work in<strong>\u00a0isolated cells<\/strong>. This is important to\u00a0<strong>control\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>quarantine<\/strong>\u00a0any possible\u00a0<strong>water born diseases<\/strong>. Each Life Support System\u00a0<strong>service a cell.<\/strong>\u00a0Recommended cells size was\u00a0determined by years of\u00a0dealing with water born diseases. Cell size recomendations are based on minimizing risk and on the physical capabilities of the Life Support Systems to serve the plants effectivel almost\u00a0like determining the right size engine for a car.<\/p>\n<p>One Life Support System can host\u00a0<strong>1200 large trellis crop plants<\/strong>\u00a0and up to\u00a0<strong>4000 leafy crop\u00a0plants<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong>\u00a0pH sensors are\u00a0sensitive instruments. They can easily be affected by statics such as lightning, statics from the surroundings or even from your power source. For this\u00a0reason\u00a0the pH sensors in these units should only be used for alarms and backup measurements and not for dosing purposes. You should rather use a calibrated\u00a0handheld pH meter for dosing purposes to eliminate possible mistakes.
