Sourced along Namibia’s pristine Atlantic coastline, Anticor harnesses the natural elements of sun, wind, and seawater to produce premium-grade solar sea salt.

 

Seawater, containing approximately 3.5% dissolved salts (of which ~2.9% is sodium chloride), is pumped from natural lagoons into an extensive network of pre-evaporation and concentration ponds, spanning over 4,500 hectares.

 

Through controlled solar evaporation:

  • Brine salinity gradually increases under natural climatic conditions
  • Once concentrations reach approximately 25% NaCl, the brine is transferred to crystallization ponds
  • Salt crystals form naturally on engineered crystallizer beds

 

Throughout this process, brine density and depth are carefully monitored to ensure that unwanted impurities (such as calcium, sulphates, and magnesium) precipitate before crystallization. This ensures the production of high-purity salt exceeding 99% NaCl (dry basis).

 

All stages are continuously monitored by technicians through an on-site analytical laboratory, ensuring strict quality control.

Pelletizing Process

Following purification, the salt undergoes Anticor’s pelletizing process, transforming raw solar salt into uniform, high-density salt pellets specifically engineered for water treatment systems.

 

The pelletizing process includes:

  • Controlled compaction of refined salt into uniform pellet shapes
  • High-pressure extrusion or pressing, ensuring structural integrity
  • Formation of low-dust, slow-dissolving pellets for optimal performance
 

This process ensures:

  • Consistent dissolution rates in water softeners
  • Reduced bridging and channeling in brine tanks
  • Improved system efficiency and longevity
  • Minimal residue and maintenance requirements
